Choose the workflow before the tool
Look for a repetitive task with a clear input and a useful output. Summarizing internal information or preparing a first draft may be a more focused starting point than trying to automate an entire business process.
Make information boundaries explicit
Identify the information a workflow needs, who should have access, and where that information will be processed. Those decisions should guide integrations and access controls.
Keep human review where it matters
AI-generated output can be incomplete or incorrect. Define when a person needs to review a result, what they should check, and how the workflow should handle uncertainty or failure.
Evaluate before expanding
Use representative examples to assess quality, time, and operational effort. Compare the proposed workflow with the current approach. Expand only when the results justify the additional complexity.
